Finally... this makes so much sense, to have song meanings [well, interpretations, at least] and collaborate a little and get some more use out of this internet thing. I have been waiting a while now for the same kind of online discussion for movies. IMDB has a little of this but not much focus about it, similar to the way there are so many sites about lyrics but not much like this.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I can't endorse it yet, but it looks promising.

I'd like to see SongMeanings become the IMDB of music.

SongMeanings has been around for some time now, around 5 years I think, except for about a 9 month period when they were working on expanding the server space or some odd thing. However, my point is that it doesn't "look promising". It has established itself as a good website. It works and it has lyrics.

The only problem with SM is the fact that it can go down for weeks at a time. It's been around for a few years now and was fantastic from the start, but when they shut down for around 10 months last year while promising each day they'd be back "in a short time," it made a few people jaded. But all in all, it's a great site for lyrics.

There should be alternative sites similar to songmeanings.net. Does anybody know any similar sites? (Lyrics/Forum) Post if you know of any.

It's back up, of course. You'll never see another 9-month downtime -- there's no need for another. Our traffic continues to increase day by day. We prepare for it, stable it, and then it spikes again. While I am very grateful for our users, our traffic is out-of-control. I think our problem may be our limited amount of bandwidth provided by our t1 line -- I think we need to be on a mo' betta' line. Anyone know any quality datacenters in South Florida?
