Firefox crashy?

Lately Firefox has been very crashy for me. In fact, it just crashed while I was writing a blog post about Couch and the optimizations of the view indexing portions of it. It was great post, I think I came up with a breakthough that will earn me millions and end all human suffering, I really can't say for certain. And now its gone, because Firefox crashed on me. dammit :(

Why so crashy? Buggy Extensions? Extensions are a big reason I use Firefox, but whatever the reason I'm kind of disappointed right now.

Update:
Just crashed again doing a refresh on a Yahoo page (BTW I'm running Firefox 1.0.4). I think it's the Flashblock extension that's crashing, I checked it's bug page and there are other reports of crashes on Yahoo pages, and those are pretty heavy with Flash ads. No wait, I just realized I've disabled that a couple of days ago and its still crashing. Alrighty then. I'm going to try uninstalling my own self written extension and see if things clear up, there's a good chance it might.

I'm running FF 1.0.4 with the Web Developer toolbar (latest), Greasemonkey, Colorzilla and View Formatted Source without a hitch.

FF has been very crashy with my.yahoo the last two days. I noticed it too. Expect a red triangle soon.

I've found writing blog posts through a browser to be clunky.

You could try using a desktop client to write your blog posts -- might be more reliable. I use w.bloggar. It plugs into the blogger.com API, as all of them do.

Firefox has been crazy crashy for me lately. I thought it was just bad memory, but now that I see other people getting crashes, maybe it's not just that.

Dunno about Firefox, but while your're figuring it out, I challenge you to game of Horseshoes.

HORSESHOES?!??

This is why I just couldn't get into FireFox. It took such a long time to get all of the extensions just to get it to work like Opera, and then a bunch more time trying to configure everything, and by then it was crashing far too often.

Maybe I'll try it again in a year or so.

I had a lot of trouble with opera not displaying things correctly last time I tried it (admittedly that was a year or two ago). I find Firefox doesn't take much configuring, really. A couple tweaks to the default config... what extensions are you adding? (just curious)

It's been pretty crashy for me as well. I've got greasemonkey running, but it crashed a fair bit even before that. Of course, I'm also forced to use novell :P and I blame it for Notes crashes, firefox crashes, just about everything! :)
