Social networking sucks

For anybody who wishes to invite me to "link in" or join your network or become your new bestus online friend or whatever, I'm just going to ignore you. Well not you, your invitation. I can't see the point to these sites, they're just a big time drain with scant reward. Feh.

And I have tried a few of these services, so you might see my account in them already, but regardless I'm going to ignore your invitations. And it's not because I don't like you, it's because it's pointless and unfun. Thank you.

They're not that bad, Damien. LinkedIn is more of a business networking thing, and less of a social one.

Some of us who were hit by the recent IBM layoffs are using every trick in our bag to find new work, and LinkedIn is a great way to connect with people at companies you want to work for.

Anyway, it's a way to kill time until the next version of liquidpoop.com gets released.

Hey, that reminds me- speaking of social networking sites, I heard recently on the news that Brazilian networking really did cause trouble after all, with it being used to traffic a network of illegal drugs. You might remember this post last year:

However, I still think the potential for its good use is there, and I've heard positive things about linked in.
