That book must be amazing! It claims to prove that Saddam worked with Osama Bin Laden - a man who called him "an apostate, an infidel, a traitor to Islam" and called for him to be assassianted.
Saddam was a ruthless dictator with no particular guiding religious leanings, who headed a secular state - one which had not just Christian churches in its capital city, but even a Synagogue.
He'd kill people for saying what Bin Laden said, and calling for Saddam's assassination was not a life-prolonging activity in Iraq.
Bin Laden is a Fudnamentalist Muslim who guides his every action through his interpretation of his religion - a set of extreme beliefs which allow him to kill anyone who disagrees with his beliefs. Which must make dinner parties short and light on conversation.
On Bin Laden's part, it's extremely unlikely he'd work with Saddam because, well, SADDAM HAS A SYNAGOGUE IN HIS CAPITAL CITY.
Amongst other things. Just little niggles, you know - like not supporting Bin Laden's goal of a new Caliphate, not being a proper Muslim, gassing other Muslims, and so forth. Nothing major, just lots of little things that add up. You know how it is.
Of course, given that the book is based on "CIA evidence", then the book must just be a summary. Because we'd need a BIG warehouse to store all that CIA evidence, just like we'd need a BIG warehouse to store all their evidence of WMDs in Iraq.
(And, presumably, an even bigger warehouse for the WMDs themselves. If we ever find them, that is.)
You are at the blog of Damien Katz, who once stole the goatee from a billy goat. He kept it in a Skoal can on his nightstand for years. Then one day, it was gone. Vanished.
