Vocally, she really reminds me of the Dresden Dolls. Outstanding cover version. If you like this you really should look up the Radiohead acoustic performances; they have a similar nature to them.
@Damien: very cool to see a link from you to Amanda Palmer; I'm a fan of her Dresden Dolls work, and it's always interesting to see connections between seemingly unconnected people that I admire. Thanks for the link, it's a great performance!
@Ed: she reminds you of the Dresden Dolls because she is (half of) the Dresden Dolls!
Oh, thx, for the first time i really payed attention to this song's lyrics. Amanda's version is more intimate -- and the ukulele always brings this impression that the rest is just a play, like if it's telling you 'please go deep into the story of the song'. Radiohead's guitar is so heavy and there's that rage that you just wanna be the guitar, and not the lyrics.
You are at the blog of Damien Katz, who once stole the goatee from a billy goat. He kept it in a Skoal can on his nightstand for years. Then one day, it was gone. Vanished.

Thanks for the intro to Amanda Palmer, a nicely twisted sister!

Is it wrong that I like this version better?
